WHIPPANY, N.J., August 30, 2023 — Suburban Propane Partners L.P. and Suburban Renewable Energy LLC have announced their sponsorship of the much-anticipated Horizon Hydrogen Grand Prix (H2GP) World Final, set to take place at the RE+ Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada, from September 11 to 14, 2023.

Aligned with Suburban Renewables’ steadfast commitment to renewable energy education and initiatives, this sponsorship extends its support to 13- to 17-year-old students from across the globe. These young minds have dedicated months to collaboratively design, engineer, and construct their own 1:10 scale hydrogen fuel cell model cars. These eco-friendly vehicles will engage in exhilarating races that underscore a collective dedication to advancing global renewable energy efforts.

Managed by Horizon Educational, this program provides high school students with a comprehensive grasp of the engineering principles underpinning the future of renewable energy solutions. As part of the engagement, Suburban Renewables will also partake in an H2GP ‘Corporate Race,’ pitting its custom-built hydrogen-powered car against those of other businesses and firms. The objective? To secure dominance and carry home the prestigious H2GP Corporate Championship Trophy.

The electrifying hydrogen-powered race unfolds within the RE+ Expo, North America’s premier energy trade show and a pivotal nexus in renewable energy. With over 27,000 professionals across various industry sectors congregating annually, this event is a fertile ground for networking and fostering meaningful connections. This year’s iteration is poised to be the most substantial yet, featuring representatives from more than 150 countries showcasing many innovations through over 1,000 displays.
